"The Commission" clarifies on referrals within the United Kingdom Resettlement Program

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan clarified its position on inquiries received regarding the United Kingdom Resettlement Program, affirming that it does not participate in referring or reviewing refugee files within this program.

The Commission stated, in a clarification published following the announcement by the British Home Secretary regarding resettlement pathways to the United Kingdom, that a number of communications and inquiries were received from Palestinian refugees and refugees of other nationalities about the program.

It emphasized that the Refugee Commission in Jordan has no role in processing refugee files within the British resettlement program and cannot refer or review any files in Jordan within this pathway.

Regarding Palestinian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, the Commission clarified that the pathway allocated for them within the program is implemented through the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), inviting those wishing to obtain information about this pathway to refer to the most frequently asked questions issued by the International Refugee Assistance Project.

The Commission stressed that there is no need to visit its registration centers in Jordan or contact the Commission's helpline regarding the British resettlement program, as the Commission in Jordan cannot refer or review any files within this pathway.

This clarification comes within the framework of the Commission's keenness to clarify the mechanisms of refugee resettlement programs and the parties responsible for each pathway, in light of the inquiries received from refugees in Jordan.

The Commission emphasized the importance of relying on information issued by the parties concerned with the program and not submitting any requests or reviews to the Commission in Jordan on the basis of the possibility of referral to the British resettlement program, due to its non-participation in this pathway.
