Agriculture Ministry signs agreement to launch the 14th national campaign for marketing olive oil

The Ministry of Agriculture signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the Jordanian Farmers Union and the General Syndicate of Jordanian Olive Mill Owners and Producers to launch the 14th national campaign for marketing Jordanian olive oil for the 2026/2027 agricultural season, aiming to support olive farmers, enhance the marketing of the national product, and facilitate its access to consumers.

Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saeb Al-Khrisat, emphasized that the campaign comes within the framework of national efforts aimed at supporting the agricultural sector, enhancing the status of Jordanian olive oil, and providing the product to citizens and employees of institutions wishing to participate, according to promotional prices and easy purchasing mechanisms. The ministry is keen to continue and develop the campaign annually due to its importance in supporting olive farmers, contributing to the marketing of their production, and boosting consumer confidence in the national product.

Al-Khrisat explained that the campaign allows ministries, official institutions, and interested entities in the public sector to provide Jordanian olive oil to their employees and families at affordable prices and facilitated facilities, including cash payment or installments over eight months, in various packaging sizes weighing 16 kilograms and 8 kilograms, catering to the different needs of beneficiaries and facilitating their acquisition of olive oil.

He stressed the importance of ensuring olive oil quality and consumer protection, pointing out that the campaign includes drawing samples and conducting chemical and sensory tests in cooperation with the competent authorities to verify that the oil complies with approved specifications and standards, prevent oil adulteration, and enhance citizens' confidence in the product offered within the campaign.

Al-Khrisat noted that the success of the campaign depends on the integration of efforts between the ministry, the Jordanian Farmers Union, and the General Syndicate of Jordanian Olive Mill Owners and Producers, contributing to supporting farmers, improving marketing opportunities for their production, and enhancing the sustainability of the sector.

For their part, representatives of the Jordanian Farmers Union and the General Syndicate of Jordanian Olive Mill Owners and Producers emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture in implementing the campaign, pointing to its role in supporting olive farmers, facilitating the marketing of their production, and enhancing the presence of Jordanian olive oil in the local market, which positively reflects on the agricultural and economic sectors.
