Rubio says Oslo talks with Zelensky are "positive"

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Wednesday that the talks held by US envoy Steve Witkoff with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday in Oslo were "positive," noting that Witkoff has arrived in Moscow to meet with Russian officials.

During a visit to India, Rubio said the talks "were positive, nothing unexpected, nothing surprising, and he will now be able to go to St. Petersburg with these ideas and share them with the Russian side," adding, "Let's see if we can make some progress."

However, Rubio acknowledged the difficulty of ending the war that Russia has been waging on Ukraine for more than four and a half years.

He said, "These things are complicated, and if ending this war were easy, it would have ended a long time ago."

Rubio also stressed that the White House was not aware in advance of the slowing down of satellite communication services belonging to SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk, which Ukraine uses to support its operations on the battlefield.
