President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia is ready to resume trilateral talks with Ukraine and the United States, but regarding the security parameters of a final peace agreement rather than a "short-term" truce.

Putin told a state television reporter, "The goal of these discussions will be to address the issue of ensuring security for both Ukraine and Russia... within the framework of a final agreement, rather than just after a brief halt in fighting."
