Public Security: The app driver fabricated the airport incident and picked up a passenger outside the app

Public Security clarifies an attempt by one of the app drivers to mislead the public opinion after publishing a video of his violation inside the airport, during which he tried to show that he was being wronged

* Upon investigation and reviewing the cameras and flight records, it was found that the violation was true and that the person had picked up an individual to the airport for his personal account outside the transportation app system he works on

The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate clarified the details of the investigation into the video published yesterday by one of the app drivers from inside Queen Alia Airport, through which he tried to show that he was being wronged by one of the traffic inspectors and that he was driving legally according to his trip schedule.

The media spokesperson confirmed that an investigation committee took charge of the video that was submitted to them, where they collected information, reviewed cameras and timings, summoned the person, and tracked his trip history through the app, where it was found that he attempted to mislead the public opinion and had picked up an individual at the request from the Al-Weibdeh area to the airport outside the licensed app framework, by mutual agreement between them for 20 dinars. After the traffic inspector issued him a legal violation for not displaying his trip through the app, he exited the airport, opened a new trip, returned again, filmed the video, and published it to show that he was being wronged.

The media spokesperson continued that the driver was referred to the cybercrime unit to take legal action against him for fabricating the incident and attempting to defame the traffic officers by publishing a misleading video.
