Public Security launches an awareness week in universities to enhance security and societal awareness among students

The Public Security Directorate launched, this Sunday, the activities of the University Awareness Week, in cooperation with a number of public and private universities across the Kingdom's governorates, within the framework of its efforts aimed at enhancing security and societal awareness among students, consolidating a culture of prevention and responsibility, and empowering youth to deal consciously with societal challenges and negative behaviors.

Yarmouk University witnessed the launch of the initiative’s activities, which included an integrated awareness program implemented by specialists from various departments and units of the Public Security Directorate. It addressed a range of societal issues, foremost among them the prevention of the drug scourge, raising awareness about the risks of cybercrime, promoting safe and responsible use of the digital space, in addition to directing students' energies towards purposeful national and societal initiatives and activities.

The activities, attended by Irbid Police Director Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Abadi, University President Dr. Malik Al-Sharari, a number of academic and administrative staff members, and a large crowd of university students, also witnessed broad interaction from the attendees through dialogues and discussions that allowed them to raise their questions, ideas, and aspirations, as well as the most prominent challenges they face, thereby enhancing their awareness as active partners in crime prevention and contributing to the protection of society.

It is noteworthy that the Public Security Directorate will continue to implement the week's activities in public and private universities across the Kingdom's governorates to reach a wider segment of university youth, strengthen its approach based on preventive awareness and direct communication with students, and involve them in the societal initiatives it carries out.
