A Jordanian economic delegation concluded, on Thursday, its program of meetings in the Italian city of Milan, with discussions with leaders of companies and economic institutions about investment opportunities in the Kingdom, ways to expand partnerships between the two countries, and preparations for an active Italian participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference.
The intensive meetings, which lasted for two days, were attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, the Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, the Jordanian Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Diya, along with representatives of Jordanian institutions and companies in the industrial, commercial, and financial sectors.
On the second day of the tour, the discussions addressed opportunities for cooperation in water desalination and treatment, communications and digital connectivity, and industrial sectors, including food industries, and their compatibility with the expansion plans of Italian companies in the region.
The round table organized by the Italian institutions "Anima", "Animap", and "Assolombarda" was a key stop in the tour program, as it provided an opportunity to present investment opportunities and discuss their study and implementation requirements with companies with specialized industrial and engineering capabilities, alongside business meetings to explore partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.
The discussions focused on combining Italian technology and expertise with Jordanian production capabilities, exploring opportunities to establish projects that serve the local market and benefit from the Kingdom's location, investment environment, and trade relations to reach regional and global markets.
The participation of the Jordanian private sector allowed for the presentation of successful investment and export experiences, discussing partnership requirements directly with representatives of Italian companies, and exchanging expertise in production and business development.
The program included meetings with "Vesia Itealimpianti", a company specializing in water desalination and treatment, the "AR I" group for prefabricated facilities and units, and the "Sparkle" company for communications and digital connectivity, along with meetings with representatives of Italian business institutions and the "Tutto Food" exhibition specializing in food and beverages.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan emphasized that the expansion of economic cooperation between Jordan and Italy is based on shared values and strong political and economic relations, noting the importance of strengthening partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries and leveraging the integrated advantages and potential of both sides to develop projects that respond to development priorities and serve mutual interests.
She added that Jordan is moving forward with the implementation of its development and economic plans, including strategic projects and programs that support growth and infrastructure development, which opens broader fields for investment and cooperation with Italian companies and allows for the utilization of their expertise in projects with shared economic and development returns.
For his part, Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh confirmed that Jordan is a stable and reliable partner for European, especially Italian, companies, and a gateway for their expansion in the region's markets, noting that the opportunities discussed aim to establish productive and service activities that combine commercial feasibility with knowledge transfer, increased exports, and the provision of quality job opportunities.
He said that the diversity of participating companies and institutions allows for exploring investment through multiple paths, including project establishment, technology supply, and the development of services linked to production, in line with the capabilities and plans of each company and the markets it targets.
Abu Ghazaleh invited Italian companies and institutions to participate in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in the Dead Sea on November 19 under the Royal patronage, and to explore its investment opportunities through sectoral and business meetings.
The tour, over two days, included meetings with Italian industrial and technological companies and institutions and a visit to the "MID" Center for Smart Manufacturing, as part of efforts to enhance Jordan's presence as an investment destination and a production and export center to regional markets.
