Strengthening the Kingdom's position as a safe and reliable gateway for investment in the region

A Jordanian economic delegation, on Wednesday in the Italian city of Milan, began an important economic tour that includes extensive meetings to attract investments and expand industrial and commercial partnerships between the two countries, and prepare for an active Italian participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference.

The delegation, which included the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, the Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, the Jordanian Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Diya, and representatives of the Jordanian private sector, held meetings with leaders of Italian industrial and technological companies and institutions, focusing on linking their expansion plans with the opportunities available in the Kingdom.

The meetings brought together companies with specialized production and technical expertise, institutions representing a wide network of Italian businesses, and a smart manufacturing center, which allowed for discussing investment requirements, from technology and skills to production facilities and supporting services, and exploring areas of cooperation that enhance the competitiveness of companies in both countries.

The participation of representatives of the private sector and some of the largest Jordanian production companies allowed for presenting successful investment and export experiences, discussing partnership requirements directly with their Italian counterparts, and exploring joint projects that benefit from the Kingdom's position as a production and export center and a gateway to regional markets.

The tour included meetings with leaders and representatives of Italian companies, including "Pomiton" for advanced metal industries, "Isafarma" for pharmaceutical manufacturing, "Pil" for real estate development and logistics facilities, and "Almaviva" for digital solutions, to explore opportunities for production and service cooperation with Jordanian companies.

The delegation also discussed with the President of the industrial association "Assolombarda", Alvise Bivi, ways to enhance communication between the business communities and encourage participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, and visited the "MED" Center for smart manufacturing at the Polytechnic University of Milan to discuss cooperation in modernizing production, training, and technology transfer.

The delegation participated in a business meeting organized by the Ministry of Investment with Italian company leaders and institutions to discuss investment, partnership, and financing opportunities.

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan highlighted the importance of the tour in expanding cooperation between Jordanian and Italian institutions in priority areas, translating it into programs, investments, and projects that align with the goals of the economic modernization vision and serve the mutual interests of the two countries.

She pointed out that the meetings enhance technical cooperation and exchange of expertise between economic institutions in the two friendly countries, and that the participation of the private sector gives it a practical dimension through direct communication between companies, which paves the way for turning understandings into productive partnerships that benefit from the integration of the potential of both sides and achieve tangible economic and developmental returns.

For his part, Minister of Investment Dr. Tariq Abu Ghazaleh confirmed that Jordan provides a stable investment environment and a reliable partnership, and that its investment value extends beyond its local market to the opportunities it provides for access to regional and global markets, thanks to its location, trade agreements, human capabilities, and the network of relations of its private sector.

He said that the economic modernization vision has established a clear path for growth, with programs and priorities that give the investor the ability to anticipate opportunities and plan for the long term, and that the Ministry of Investment continues to work in this framework to turn opportunities into productive projects, by improving the efficiency of services, simplifying procedures, and following up on the needs of companies to establish, operate, and expand their businesses.

He pointed to opportunities for integration with the European private sector, particularly the Italian, in specialized industries, technology, and services linked to production, calling on Italian companies to participate in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference, scheduled to be held in the Dead Sea on November 19 under the Royal patronage, and to explore the opportunities presented through sectoral meetings and business meetings with project owners, government and financial entities, to discuss partnership, financing, and implementation requirements directly.

For his part, the Jordanian Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Diya emphasized the importance of building on the solid relations between the two countries, noting the embassy's keenness to continue communication with the Italian business community and follow up on the outcomes of the meetings in coordination with the concerned authorities, in order to support the establishment of sustainable partnerships and enhance Italian participation in the Jordanian-European Investment Conference.

The delegation will continue its economic tour program in Milan tomorrow, Thursday, to introduce investment opportunities in the Kingdom and strengthen partnerships between the Jordanian and Italian business sectors.
