The weather forecaster at the Meteorological Department, Muhammad Al-Khalidi, said on Tuesday that the Kingdom has been affected since the early hours of the day by a weak state of atmospheric instability, which led to a noticeable decrease in temperatures, by about 5 degrees Celsius below their climatic averages.

Al-Khalidi added that the maximum temperature in the capital, Amman, reached 24.6 degrees Celsius today, noting that rain fell in many areas of the Kingdom, including the eastern, southern, some central areas, and parts of the northern regions.

He explained that the Mafraq observation station recorded the highest rainfall amount of about 2 mm, while the Safawi station in the northeastern Badia recorded about 1.5 mm, and the Amman Airport observation station recorded about 1.3 mm, while the Zarqa Governorate recorded about 1.7 mm.

In the southern regions, the Jufr observation station recorded about 1.5 mm, while Aqaba city witnessed rainfall of less than half a mm.

Al-Khalidi pointed out that the weather during Tuesday night will be relatively cold, especially over the mountain heights, with the continued appearance of clouds at different altitudes in the southern, southeastern, and eastern regions of the Kingdom until Wednesday.

He pointed to the possibility of light rainfall in some areas of southern the Kingdom during the night hours, for short periods, warning of the danger of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog, especially over the northern and southern mountain heights, and the risk of slipping on roads that may witness rainfall.

Regarding the weather on Wednesday, Al-Khalidi said that temperatures will rise slightly, while remaining below their normal rates by about 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, and the weather will be moderate in most areas of the Kingdom and relatively hot in the areas of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, with the appearance of clouds at different altitudes.

He added that limited parts of the eastern and southern regions may witness rainfall in the afternoon, which may be accompanied by thunder, especially in the eastern regions.

He expected the maximum temperature in the capital, Amman, on Wednesday to range between 26 and 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum would be about 16 degrees.

Al-Khalidi warned on Wednesday of the danger of reduced horizontal visibility due to fog over the mountain heights, and reduced visibility on external and desert roads due to dust raised by the wind, in addition to the risk of slipping on roads that may witness rainfall.

He pointed out that Thursday and Friday will witness stability in the weather and another rise in temperatures, returning to their normal rates, and the maximum in the capital, Amman, will reach about 29-30 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be 18-19 degrees.
