Maliki: Operations continue to support the legitimate Yemeni government

The official spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, said that the full operational support to the Yemeni Armed Forces is continuing, and standing with the Yemeni government and people to end the coup and restore the state and its national institutions to build Yemen's future.

Major General Turki Al-Maliki described what the Houthi group is doing as "blatant violations that have brought calamities and suffering to Yemenis for many years," according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Al-Maliki identified these violations as "the ongoing terrorist attacks and repeated practices of the terrorist Houthi militia against the brotherly Yemeni people, including internal siege, forced displacement of citizens from their cities and villages, starving them, looting and dividing their resources and using them for what they call the war effort, insulting tribal sheikhs and individuals, tearing apart the social fabric of Yemeni society in all its segments, terrorizing women, and recruiting children for their criminal project".

Major General Al-Maliki added that "the terrorist attacks of the Houthi militia on the Kingdom and the attempt to target the holy city of Mecca and the city of the Prophet (Medina), and the deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian objects in a number of cities in the Kingdom (Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu), as well as the attempt to target the Kingdom's ships south of the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, necessitate the continuation of the necessary and required measures to deter the hostile acts of the terrorist Houthi militia, with the aim of protecting the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom as well as regional and international security".

Major General Al-Maliki affirmed "the Kingdom's inherent right to defend its sovereignty, protect its security, and take all operational measures to deter this militia and stop its gross violations, based on its national responsibility towards the Two Holy Mosques, its citizens, its national capabilities, and residents on its lands".

He added: "It also confirms its continued support for Yemen and its brotherly people until the restoration of the state and its institutions and the elimination of the terrorist Houthi militia and the end of its threat to maritime navigation freedom in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, considering this threat to be an undermining of regional and international security and a threat to the freedom of international navigation and trade, the backbone of the global economy, and a threat to regional international security and the national interests of all countries".
