Jordan continues participation in Youth Olympics

Jordan's national swimming team athletes, Michael Alwar and Serene Mahyar, continued their participation on Monday in the fourth edition of the Youth Olympic Games, held in Dakar, the capital of Senegal.

Alwar competed in the 100-meter freestyle swimming race, finishing third in the fifth heat with a time of 54.88 seconds, but did not qualify for the final.

Meanwhile, Mahyar participated in the 100-meter freestyle swimming race, winning the third heat by finishing first with a time of 1:02.85 minutes, though this time was not sufficient to advance to the final.

On the other hand, Jordan's national triathlon team athlete, Maria Al-Hadadin, arrived in Dakar, Senegal's capital, in preparation for her participation in the Games.

Al-Hadadin began her preparations with a running training session inside the Olympic Village, supervised by national team coach Elias Nowareh, as part of her training program ahead of the official training sessions.

Al-Hadadin is scheduled to have a swimming training session on Tuesday, continuing her preparations and enhancing her physical and technical readiness ahead of the competitions.

Al-Hadadin will begin her participation in the Youth Olympics next Friday, November 6, in the triathlon events to be held at the Saly Water Park in the Saly West Beach area. The race consists of three consecutive stages: a 750-meter open-water swim, followed by a 20-kilometer cycling stage, and concluding with a 5-kilometer run.

Al-Hadadin was selected to participate in the Youth Olympics following her performance at last year's Asian Youth Games held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and she aims to deliver an outstanding performance in her first Olympic appearance.
