The International Projects Unit at the Irbid Chamber of Industry serves as a vital artery and an integrated umbrella for networking and training national human resources, and supporting industrial establishments in the governorate, thereby contributing to meeting the growing needs of the labor market and providing sustainable and quality employment opportunities for youth and job seekers.
The President of the Irbid Chamber of Industry, Hani Abu Hassan, emphasized that the establishment of the unit came under the diligent and direct guidance of the Chamber's Board of Directors to act as a strategic pillar and a unifying umbrella for industrialists, noting that the unit includes qualified and specialized personnel who manage and follow up on projects and design and implement professional courses specifically tailored to the actual and realistic needs of the labor market and production facilities.
Abu Hassan added that the staff working in the unit have, since the unit's establishment in 2015, efficiently dealt with about 20,000 job seekers from various disciplines, and succeeded in employing approximately 12,000 job seekers in various private sector segments and industrial establishments, which has positively reflected on reducing unemployment rates and enhancing the stability of the local workforce.
He explained that the unit's role does not stop at the limits of direct networking and providing opportunities, but extends to providing a tangible training and rehabilitation support umbrella and offering technical training targeting both industrial establishments and job seekers, through holding and implementing time-bound training programs that lead to direct and actual employment in production lines and professional sites.
Abu Hassan pointed out that the unit has continued to expand its international cooperation horizons to provide modern and advanced technical and vocational training paths in cooperation and coordination with the Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Germany, in addition to the extended and effective strategic partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), which provides technical and practical support and training for industrial establishments, and ensures raising the efficiency of the national workforce and enhancing its competitiveness in the local and regional labor market.
