Irbid Agriculture: Ending the Pomegranate Festival activities in mourning for the souls of the Karak martyrs

The Irbid Governorate Agriculture Directorate has decided to suspend the extension of the 18th annual Pomegranate and Rural Products Festival, making today, Saturday, October 24, 2026, the final day of the festival, in mourning for the victims of the criminal attack that targeted Hamoud Church in Karak Governorate.

The Director of the Irbid Governorate Agriculture Directorate and Festival Director, Dr. Abdul Hafez Abu Orabi, stated that this decision comes in light of the state of mourning experienced by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and in condemnation of the criminal attack that targeted the church, as it represents an infringement on the nation's security, national unity, and the values of brotherhood and tolerance among the people of the unified Jordanian nation.

Dr. Abu Orabi, on his own behalf and on behalf of the employees of the Agriculture Directorate in the governorate and its districts, extended his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, asking God Almighty to cover them with His vast mercy, to grant the injured a speedy recovery, to protect Jordan and its people from all harm, and to perpetuate the blessing of security, stability, and national unity in the Kingdom.

Abu Orabi emphasized that the directorate and its staff stand behind the Hashemite leadership and security services, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, in preserving the nation's security and stability and safeguarding its national unity.
