Greater Jerash Municipality Removes a Wall Intruding on the Public Road

The staff of the Souf area, affiliated with the Greater Jerash Municipality, removed a wall that was erected in violation on the public road and was at risk of collapsing, in accordance with the law and in agreement with the residents, to enhance public safety and protect road users.

The chairman of the municipal committee, Muhammad Bani Yassin, said that the measure came in response to a notice regarding a vehicle falling from a high wall in one of the neighborhoods of the Souf area, explaining that the site was visited accompanied by the area manager, Engineer Abdul Hadi Al-Hawamdeh, where a field inspection was carried out, the current situation was examined, the sources of danger were identified, and the necessity of taking the necessary measures to address them was confirmed.

He pointed out that it was agreed to place concrete barriers of the type «New Jersey» on the side of the road, which contributes to reducing the risks of vehicles and children falling, and provides more protection and safety for road users and residents of the area.

Bani Yassin explained that the field tour also included inspecting a number of sites that may pose a source of danger, where he directed to take the necessary measures to address the presence of a tree on the side of the road, the roots of which appeared clearly, which may affect its stability and increase the likelihood of it falling, stressing the need to remove the source of danger proactively, especially with the approaching winter season.

He emphasized the importance of continuing the inspection and field follow-up of infrastructure sites, roads, and sources of danger, and taking the necessary preventive measures in cooperation with citizens, in order to enhance public safety and preserve lives and properties
