The ministry stated that the Israeli bombardment targeted a vehicle carrying two members of the anti-narcotics police as they were returning from a work mission in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood.
It explained that the bombardment resulted in the death of First Assistant Fouad Ayesh al-Ghoula (28 years old) and the injury of another officer from the anti-narcotics police department.
The ministry demanded pressure on Israel "to stop its crimes violating international law by continuing to target the police force, which performs clear civil tasks in serving citizens."
The targeting of the policemen comes amid separate Israeli attacks witnessed in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, which resulted in the death of 4 Palestinians, including a child, and the injury of more than 19 others, according to an Anadolu correspondent.
According to medical sources to Anadolu, the attacks included an Israeli drone strike on a civilian vehicle in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood southwest of Gaza City, which resulted in the death of a Palestinian and the injury of others, one of them critically.
In other attacks, the Israeli army killed a child by gunfire in the town of Jabalia in the northern Strip, and two Palestinians in two airstrikes on motorcycles in the central and southern Strip.
Additionally, 13 Palestinians were injured in a bombardment targeting a gathering of citizens north of Gaza City, and 4 from one family in artillery shelling that hit a school sheltering displaced people in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip.
These developments come amid ongoing daily Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement announced since October 10, 2025, which, up until Wednesday, have resulted in the death of 1,538 Palestinians and the injury of 5,498 others.
Since October 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, killing more than 74,000 Palestinians, injuring over 175,000, and destroying about 90 percent of the civilian infrastructure.
