The G7 warned that Iran's actions threaten to undermine international trade and cause global economic instability, considering that the continued escalation portends an exacerbation of the conflict in the region.
The group said that the situation in Yemen represents an unacceptable threat to regional stability, regional security, and global energy security, condemning in the strongest terms the ongoing attacks carried out by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia.
The G7 called on the Houthis to immediately cease all military actions, threats, and attacks targeting civilian ships, and also demanded that Iran stop arming and supporting the Houthis, considering this a violation of UN Security Council resolutions.
The group emphasized that what it described as Iran's 'reprehensible actions' represents a dangerous pattern of escalation, warning of its consequences for regional and international stability.
