Electronic Warfare Weapons

This weapon has been used extensively against Jordan through thousands of fake pages and websites. This was clearly evident in the sedition attempt that targeted Jordan's security and stability, for which Bassem Awadallah and others were arrested.

Social media platforms have also turned into tools for sabotaging the social cohesion system in Jordan. It is noticeable that many social media sites have become devoid of ethical and legal constraints, making them a means to tear apart social cohesion by discussing regionalism and sectarianism and inciting strife regarding these issues. Furthermore, they facilitate the generalization of accusations, insults, and attacks even on national symbols. What is published on social media pages in Jordan has become a cause for many family and tribal disputes and ethnic divisions, meaning these sites are being employed to threaten societal peace in Jordan.

In order for the rumor weapon to successfully devastate a targeted state, the entity driving the war seeks to possess an archive containing the points of contention within the targeted society, as well as the mistakes of officials in that state. This was clearly demonstrated in many incidents that confirm Jordan is being targeted by rumors supported by the archives of "black rooms" that orchestrate electronic warfare against the country. For example, Jordanians still remember that barely two hours had passed since the former Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, took the constitutional oath before His Majesty the King, when social media and some news sites were flooded with a previous statement of his that contradicted the prevailing culture regarding wearing masks at the time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It completely opposed this culture in an attempt to undermine all the efforts made over a year by all state agencies and specialists, led by the efforts of His Majesty the King to convince people of the necessity of wearing masks as the most important weapon in confronting and preventing the cursed virus. It later turned out that the minister's statement was old, dating back a year and a few weeks, when the pandemic was in its early stages and scientists and doctors were trying to grasp its features and discover its reality. During that period, conflicting opinions multiplied until the world settled on the necessity of wearing masks to prevent this cursed epidemic.

This confirms that some entity archived the former Minister of Health's statement and kept it to be used when necessary.

This incident means that there are those who archive the statements and positions of Jordanians, and then republish many of them, especially those aimed at spreading chaos and confusion among Jordanians and shaking their confidence in their state, its institutions, and its men.

To spread rumors and make them more lethal, electronic armies are built to target the minds and convictions of the citizens of the targeted state by talking extensively about their suffering and problems, and then provoking them against their state by talking about their deprivation compared to the standard of living of officials in their state, turning citizens against their state.

This weapon is one of the most used against the Jordanian state through the use of social media pages to talk about what it calls "the suffering of Jordanians."

The entity driving fourth-generation warfare also seeks to ignite internal conflicts in the targeted state along sectarian and ethnic lines. This weapon has been used against Jordan frequently through sectarian discourse—talk that was not part of the Jordanian people's culture and was not raised by Jordanians, especially in its religious aspect, before it was periodically stirred up through fatwas regarding the permissibility of praying for mercy for a Christian or congratulating them on their holidays, etc.

The state driving fourth-generation warfare also seeks to control the media of the targeted state or sabotage this media and flatten its content, based on the principle: "Give me a media without a conscience, and I will give you a people without awareness." When a people lose their awareness, it becomes easy to control them and employ them for the benefit of their enemies.

The reality of the Jordanian media and the growing, persistent talk about its crisis and the absence of its role in highlighting Jordan's achievements—leadership and institutions—at a time when media outlets, especially electronic ones, race to highlight and amplify mistakes and use them to incite against the state, in addition to the extent of financial infiltration of media outlets operating in Jordan, all confirm that Jordan is being subjected to electronic warfare.
