The Public Prosecutor of Amman decided to detain the person who allowed his dogs to mutilate a cat in the public street, which appeared in a widely circulated video, for a week, in a rehabilitation center.
The Public Prosecutor charged the defendant with several misdemeanors, including publishing or republishing illegal content or false news using the information network or a social media platform, in accordance with the provisions of Article (21) of the Electronic Crimes Law, the misdemeanor of intentionally killing an animal in accordance with the provisions of Article (452) of the Penal Code, the misdemeanor of acting in a public place that disrupts public tranquility, contrary to the provisions of Article (390/1) of the Penal Code, and drunkenness accompanied by rioting, in accordance with the provisions of Article (390/2) of the Penal Code.
