The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate clarified the circumstances and details of the incident involving the assault on a minor with a sharp object in the capital.
The media spokesperson confirmed that on Monday, 12/10/2026, a report was received by the North Amman Police Directorate regarding a 13-year-old minor who was assaulted with a sharp object by unknown individuals. He was taken to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment and is in good health.
Upon questioning the minor, he stated that the person who assaulted him had arrived with the driver of a small transport bus (minibus) who works to transport him and his colleagues to school under a contract with their families. On the day of the incident, when he and his colleagues boarded the bus, that person drove the vehicle and changed the route instead of taking them home, heading toward the Tariq area under the pretext of repairing the vehicle. When he attempted to flee, the vehicle driver chased him and struck him with a sharp object.
The media spokesperson continued that the assailant was identified and found to have a prior criminal record. His location was determined, and he was raided and arrested. It was found that he had also been struck in the face, claiming that during the altercation, the minor had taken an iron object that was in his possession and used it to assault and strike him. The other person who usually transported them was also arrested, and both were referred to the judiciary and detained in a correctional and rehabilitation center.
