Civil Defense: Paramedic Officer via 911 to Provide Medical Guidance

The Civil Defense Directorate confirmed the presence of a specialized paramedic officer around the clock in the Operations and Control Directorate via the unified emergency phone number 911, to provide medical guidance to citizens until the arrival of ambulance teams to the location of the report.

Civil Defense Media Officer Captain Abdullah Al-Saudi said that telephone instructions focus especially on cases that require immediate emergency intervention, including airway obstruction, suffocation, and choking cases in children, noting that the response speed of ambulance teams usually ranges between 7 and 9 minutes, depending on the location and circumstances of the report.

He explained that the Civil Defense teams continued to deal with various emergency cases and fire and rescue accidents in the regions of the Kingdom, where they dealt with 1590 medical cases, 138 fire incidents, and 110 rescue incidents in the past few hours.

Al-Saudi pointed out that the Civil Defense teams extinguished a fire that broke out on the second floor of a seven-story building in the Jabiha area of the capital, and prevented it from spreading to neighboring apartments, without any injuries or loss of life.

He called for the provision of hand-held fire extinguishers inside vehicles, homes, commercial and industrial establishments, especially in light of the registration of a number of vehicle fires in the recent period.

He explained that the hand-held fire extinguisher forms the first line of defense when a fire breaks out, and helps to control it in its early stages and limit its spread and the resulting losses.

He confirmed the readiness of the Public Security Directorate with all its formations and units to deal with reports and emergency cases around the clock via the unified emergency number 911.
