Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal signed a contract yesterday, Tuesday, with Getafe, the capital suburb club, on a free transfer deal until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old right-back had left "Los Blancos," with whom he won 27 titles, at the end of last season.
The club said in a statement, "Getafe has reached an agreement with Dani Carvajal that keeps him at the club until June 30, 2027," noting his "leadership and experience."
Carvajal is a graduate of the "La Fabrica" academy belonging to the Royal club, and he returned to the Spanish giant directly in the summer following his move to Germany's Bayer Leverkusen in 2012.
The defender suffered from injuries for most of last season, as he was not called up to join the Spain squad that won the 2026 World Cup.
