The national basketball team stumbled against its Iranian counterpart with a score of 68-81 on Sunday, at the conclusion of the group stage matches in the basketball competition at the 2026 Asian Games held in Japan.
The national team finished its Group B campaign in third place with 4 points, after one win and two losses, while Iran topped the group, Chinese Taipei came in second, and the Qatar national team ranked fourth.
The national team concluded its group stage matches awaiting the completion of the matches in Groups A and C, to determine the best two third-placed teams qualifying for the quarter-finals.
The basketball competition is held with the participation of 12 teams, divided into 3 groups. The first and second-placed teams from each group, along with the best two third-placed teams, qualify for the quarter-finals.
