Armed Forces: 18 missiles intercepted and destroyed, while two fell in areas free of population centers
The official spokesperson for the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, stated that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was subjected to a missile attack originating from Iranian territory over the past hours.
The official spokesperson explained that Jordanian air defense systems dealt with 20 ballistic missiles launched toward Jordanian territory, 18 of which were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while two missiles fell in areas free of population centers.
The official spokesperson confirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, dealt with the threat in accordance with approved operational procedures, ensuring the protection of the Kingdom's airspace and the safety of citizens, and that monitoring, follow-up, and assessment operations are still ongoing.
According to field assessments, thank God, no loss of life was recorded as a result of the attack.
Specialized teams have begun dealing with the sites where debris and remnants fell, securing them, and taking the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the surrounding areas.
The Jordanian Armed Forces urge citizens not to approach any unknown objects, debris, or remnants, not to touch or move them, and to report them to the competent authorities immediately upon finding them, in order to preserve their safety and the safety of the specialized teams.
The Armed Forces also emphasize the necessity of not circulating rumors or unreliable information, and relying on statements issued by official authorities as the approved source for information related to the situation.
The Jordanian Armed Forces – the Arab Army, confirm that surveillance, warning, and air defense systems are at the highest levels of readiness and preparedness to deal with any threat, and that their units and formations continue to carry out their duties around the clock to protect the Kingdom, its security, and the sovereignty of its airspace.
