The delegation was welcomed by the Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Shadi Ramzi Al-Fahd, and members of the Board of Commissioners, during which the potential of Aqaba and its ability to host international sports championships and events were reviewed, enhancing its presence as a regional destination for sports tourism.

Both parties discussed opportunities for cooperation to host the championship and attract participants and visitors from various countries, contributing to the revitalization of tourism and economic activity, enhancing sports tourism, and opening the door to qualitative investments in the production of padel equipment and tools, clothing, sports accessories, and supporting services for the sector.

Al-Fahd said that adopting sports tourism as a new model contributing to the tourism and investment sector in Aqaba comes within a vision that aims to diversify the tourism product and enhance its ability to attract new segments of visitors, noting that hosting international sports events represents an opportunity to promote Aqaba and its diverse tourist attractions.

Al-Fahd emphasized the importance of enjoying the integration of the tourism product in Aqaba, so that the visit of participants, delegations, and the public is not limited to attending sports events, but extends to include benefiting from a comprehensive system of tourist experiences provided by Aqaba, including beaches, marine and recreational activities, tourist sites, hotels and restaurants, and cultural and environmental experiences, enhancing the visitor's stay duration and enriching their tourist experience.
