Al-Qara'a confirmed that the institution, according to its lending plans and programs, is looking for new areas targeting specialized and smart crops and introducing modern production patterns that contribute to reducing water consumption and lowering production costs, in line with the modernization of the agricultural sector and the axes of the economic modernization vision.
Al-Qara'a pointed out that the lending policy focuses on the sustainability of the agricultural sector in light of the scarcity of the rainy season witnessed last season, which increased the demand for farmers' loans to finance fodder, where the number of beneficiaries of fodder loans reached 112 borrowers, with a total value of about 424 thousand dinars, which helped farmers overcome the dry season due to low rainfall rates.
In the field of rural development, Al-Qara'a said that the branch pays attention to financing projects implemented by rural families that contribute to providing additional income sources for families and converting small agricultural activities into productive income-generating projects, where the value of financing directed to rural families during the current year amounted to about 170 thousand dinars, while the value of loans allocated to poverty and unemployment programs amounted to about 210 thousand dinars.
This approach is within the developmental role of the institution, which targets in its programs small and medium enterprises, family projects, and rural area projects, in addition to projects that increase productivity and provide job opportunities.
Al-Qara'a explained that the institution's branch is ready to finance specialized projects within the "Ardhy" project concerned with water provision, which targets farmers wishing to apply modern and smart irrigation techniques with a financing ceiling of up to 30 thousand dinars, in addition to financing solar energy projects with loans of up to 15 thousand dinars, which help farmers reduce energy costs in agriculture, especially in irrigation and agricultural operation projects. Regarding loan guarantees, Al-Qara'a confirmed that the guarantees adopted by the institution aim primarily to preserve the institution's rights and ensure the sustainability of its financial resources, enabling it to continue financing the agricultural sector and serving farmers, noting that this year the institution signed an agreement with the Jordanian Credit Guarantee Corporation to facilitate borrowers who face difficulty in providing traditional guarantees, including guarantees or mortgage properties, where borrowers began to benefit from this service during the current year.
Regarding loan collection, he explained that the institution attaches great importance to this aspect, considering it a basis for the sustainability of the lending process and ensuring the continued flow of financing to farmers, noting that the collection plan in the Madaba branch during the last year amounted to about (2.6) million dinars, with a collection rate of 93 percent, while the collection value during the current year so far amounted to about (1.7) million dinars, with a collection rate of 71 percent.
