Al-Tamari.. Under the Microscope of the 2027 Asian Cup

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has placed national team player Mousa Al-Tamari under the microscope as one of the standout players expected to shine in the AFC Asian Cup finals scheduled in Saudi Arabia in 2027.

In a report published on its official website, the AFC emphasized that Al-Tamari played a prominent role in the national team's historic run during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, noting that all eyes will turn to him once again to lead Al-Nashama's ambitions in the upcoming edition.

The report pointed out that Al-Tamari, thanks to his speed, close ball control, and ability to dribble past defenders, has evolved into one of the most prominent and renowned attacking players on the Asian continent, alongside his pivotal role with his club and country.

Al-Tamari, the French club Stade Rennais player, is 29 years old and has played 90 international matches for the national team, scoring 25 goals.

The Amman-born forward began his career with Shabab Al-Ordon, before shining with Al-Jazeera in the AFC Cup, which attracted attention and paved the way for his transfer to Cypriot club APOEL in 2018, launching a professional journey in Europe that later led him to Belgium with OH Leuven.

Al-Tamari embarked on a new experience by joining Montpellier in 2023, becoming the first Jordanian player to feature in the French Ligue 1, before moving to Stade Rennais in February 2025.

Al-Tamari's impact was most evident with the national team, particularly during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, which witnessed Jordan's best participation in the history of the continental tournament.

Al-Tamari scored two goals during the 4-0 victory over Malaysia in the group stage, before delivering one of his finest performances in the tournament during the semi-finals against the Republic of Korea.

Amid a goalless draw, Al-Tamari provided an assist to Yazan Al-Naimat, who opened the scoring, before sealing the famous 2-0 victory with a brilliant individual strike after advancing with the ball and slotting it into the bottom corner of the net.

With this victory, the national team reached the Asian Cup final for the first time in its history, before its journey ended with a 3-1 defeat against the host nation Qatar.

Since then, Al-Taamari has contributed to the national team's qualification for the World Cup for the first time, and also scored against Argentina during the 2026 World Cup finals.

With the experience and capability he possesses to shine on the biggest stages, the national team relies on Al-Tamari once again, with aspirations of achieving a new and remarkable run in the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027.
