Al-Salem to New Students: Welcome to the "Gem of Universities," and your academic journey begins with confidence

The President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, and the members of the Council of Deans, welcomed the new students for the academic year 2026-2027 on Sunday, within the activities of the "Gem" guidance tent, launched by the Deanship of Student Affairs in cooperation with the University Students Union and student initiatives, over five days, with the aim of preparing students for university life and introducing them to the university, its services, and facilities.
The "Gem" guidance tent is an interactive station for receiving and guiding new students, providing information on registration procedures, the use of the electronic portal, and introducing colleges, specializations, academic and administrative facilities and services, in addition to answering their inquiries and introducing them to university systems, instructions, student activities, programs, and available extracurricular opportunities.
The tent witnessed interaction from the new students, who appreciated the efforts of those in charge in providing guidance and assistance, noting that the initiative contributed to facilitating their first steps within the university campus, enhancing their sense of comfort, confidence, and belonging, and encouraging them to participate in university life and benefit from the available opportunities to develop their skills and build positive relationships with their peers.
For his part, the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Samer Al-Bashier, explained that the organization of the tent comes within the efforts of the Deanship aimed at providing support and guidance to new students, introducing them to the services and opportunities available to them, and encouraging them to participate in extracurricular activities that contribute to developing communication and teamwork skills and enhancing the spirit of initiative and belonging.
The President of the University Students Union, student Hamza Al-Hamza, appreciated the efforts of the university administration and its continuous keenness to support students, provide a suitable university environment for them, and cooperate with the Students Union to meet their needs and enhance their university experience, stressing the role of the Union in welcoming new students, supporting them, and enhancing communication between them and the university administration.
The university continues its efforts to provide a supportive university environment for students, enhancing their belonging and preparing them for an academic journey full of excellence and achievement.
