Al-Qatarneh stated, during the company's 88th General Assembly meeting, that the transport and logistics sector represents one of the main sectors in the Jordanian Economic Modernization Vision, while Aqaba forms the Kingdom's maritime gateway and an important hub for trade and transit movement.
According to a statement issued by the ministry today, the minister explained that the project to manage, develop, and operate the passenger terminal in Aqaba Port, which the Arab Bridge is studying to implement in partnership with the Aqaba Development Corporation, comes within the framework of developing the ports and logistics system, and elevating the services provided to travelers and truck drivers on the Aqaba-Nuweiba line.
Al-Qatarneh stressed that the results achieved by "Arab Bridge" in recent years enhance its ability to expand into new fields and activities, and diversify its investments and services, thereby supporting its competitiveness and business sustainability and reinforcing its role in the regional maritime transport system.

He pointed out the increase in the number of transported trucks by 15%, alongside continued growth in passenger numbers, emphasizing that these results provide a strong financial and operational base for fleet modernization, expansion into new lines and markets, and diversification of income sources.
Al-Abadleh announced the joining of the passenger and cargo vessel "Al-Jisr", with a capacity of 85 trucks and 254 passengers, and the fast craft "Ashur", with a capacity of 312 passengers, to the company's fleet, while the company has completed the procedures for joining a new vessel with a capacity of 110 trucks and 253 passengers, raising the total Arab Bridge fleet to 11 marine units.
Al-Abadleh revealed the start of preparations to operate the company's vessels on new shipping lines, foremost among them the Safaga-Duba line between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as part of expanding the operations network, diversifying revenue sources, and enhancing the company's presence in regional maritime transport markets.
Al-Abadleh reviewed the outlines of the company's strategy for 2027, which targets gradual expansion from the maritime transport activity into an integrated business system including infrastructure, maritime services and industries, and supporting activities.
The company is working on a number of projects, most notably the development, operation, and management of the boat maintenance and repair facility "Slipway" in Sharm El-Sheikh in partnership with the Red Sea Ports Authority, alongside the project to manage, develop, and operate the passenger terminal in Aqaba Port in partnership with the Aqaba Development Corporation.
The company also continues to develop its digital solutions with the aim of raising operational efficiency and improving services provided to travelers and shippers.

For his part, the representative of the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Hazem Al-Hafiz, emphasized that fleet modernization and expansion into new lines and projects translate the founding countries' vision for developing the work of the Arab Bridge, and enhance the company's role in maritime connectivity between the Arab East and North Africa.
