The Al-Nashama national team concludes its technical and physical preparations today, in anticipation of facing its Venezuelan counterpart at 8:00 PM tomorrow, Tuesday, at King Abdullah II Stadium in Al-Quwaisma, at the conclusion of the current international break, which constitutes an important station in the preparation program for participating in the 2027 AFC Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Nashama will conduct its final training session today amid a state of good technical and physical readiness for all players, as the squad appears complete. Part of the training session will be open to the media on the pitch that will host the match, before the technical staff, led by Moroccan coach Badou Ezzaki, puts the final touches on the anticipated technical and tactical choices for the match.
Al-Nashama's squad for this gathering includes: Yazid Abu Layla, Abdullah Al-Fakhouri, and Ahmed Al-Juaidi, Yazan Al-Arab, Abdullah Naseeb, Mohammad Abu Al-Nadi, Saad Al-Rousan, Hadi Al-Hourani, Muhannad Abu Taha, Ehsan Haddad, Ahmed Assaf, Ali Azaiza, Anas Badawi, Noor Al-Rawabdeh, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Ibrahim Saadeh, Youssef Qeshi, Amer Jamous, Mahmoud Shawkat, Youssef Abu Jallaboush, Mohammad Abu Zureiq, Anas Al-Awadat, Mousa Al-Taamari, Mahmoud Mardi, Tamer Bani Odeh, Ahmed Ersan, Ouda Al-Fakhouri, and Ali Olwan, while goalkeeper Alek Samir left the camp due to injury.
The match against Venezuela holds special importance for Ezzaki, as it represents his second test at the helm of Al-Nashama's technical management, after leading the team in its first match against Syria, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Moroccan manager seeks to build on what appeared in the first match, broaden the scope of understanding the players' capabilities, and reach clearer indicators regarding the team's shape and playing style that can be adopted during the upcoming phase.
The technical staff does not view Tuesday's match solely from the perspective of the result, but rather treats it as a new opportunity to test the players against a strong team, and to assess their ability to handle various technical conditions that the match might impose, especially since the current phase comes within the framework of early preparation for the Asian tournament.
«Sisa» Injury
In a sudden development, the Football Association announced yesterday that the medical examinations undergone by national team player Youssef Abu Jallaboush showed that he suffered a strained adductor muscle during training.
The association said in a statement that the injury will require «Sisa» to miss the national team's match against its Venezuelan counterpart scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.
It added that the player will complete his treatment and rehabilitation period in coordination between the national team's medical staff and his club.
Venezuelan Updates
While Al-Nashama continues its preparations quietly and with focus, important updates occurred in the ranks of the Venezuelan national team, which is undergoing its current Asian tour, after manager Fernando Batista decided to release 12 players from the group that participated in the past two matches against Japan and South Korea.
The Venezuelan team had lost to Japan 1-2 before drawing with South Korea without goals, prompting the technical staff to return a number of players to their clubs, in a move reflecting the coach's desire to give an opportunity to the rest of the squad elements during the third and final match of the Asian tour against Al-Nashama.
According to specialized sources in Venezuelan football, the list of released players includes goalkeeper José Contreras, defenders Jon Aramburu, Nahuel Ferraresi, Teo Quintero, Luis Balbo, and Christian Makoun, along with midfielders Yangel Herrera, Cristian Cásseres, and Glaiker Mendoza, and forwards Kevin Kelsy, Jesús Ramírez, and Jhonder Cádiz.
This means that Batista will approach the match with a relatively different group from the one he relied on in the matches against Japan and South Korea, as he is expected to give the rest of the players a greater opportunity to participate, with the aim of testing the largest possible number of elements and assessing their technical and physical readiness.
Venezuela's remaining delegation to face Al-Nashama includes 16 players: goalkeepers Christopher Varela, Joel Graterol, and Francarlos Benítez; defenders Juan David Sánchez, Yordan Osorio, Andruso Araújo, Bianneider Tamayo, Carlos Vivas, Delfin Alfonso, and Román Davis; midfielders Daniel Pereira, Marco Leibra, Sebastián Mendoza, Nicola Profeta, and Wickelman Carmona; alongside forward Edson Tortolero.
Realistic Importance
Despite the changes that occurred in the opponent's lineup, Al-Nashama realize that the Venezuelan team remains a strong test and holds realistic importance, especially since it ranks 47th globally in the latest official ranking issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), compared to 73rd for Al-Nashama according to the current ranking available before the next official update.
The ranking difference gives the match additional technical value for Al-Nashama, who are looking to gradually elevate their level during the new phase, especially after the first experience against Syria, which witnessed the participation of a large number of players with the aim of giving Ezzaki a wider space to get to know the group.
Also, the Venezuelan team, which is preparing in turn for a new phase, showed in its last match against South Korea the ability to impose its presence and reach dangerous areas before the match ended in a goalless draw, which confirms that the Jordanian mission will not be easy, even with the changes that occurred in its squad.
The match comes at an important timing for Al-Nashama, who are entering a new phase after their historic participation in the 2026 World Cup, and ahead of the upcoming Asian commitment. The primary goal of these friendly matches will be to build a team capable of continuing its presence in the circle of continental competition, and to benefit from every international station to develop performance and discover suitable options.
Consequently, facing Venezuela represents more than just a friendly match; it is a true testing station for Ezzaki and his players, an opportunity to assess the speed of absorbing new ideas, measure the readiness of existing elements, and enhance confidence and competitive spirit among Al-Nashama.
While the Venezuelan team prepares to field a new group of its players, Al-Nashama will have an important opportunity to confirm their development, benefiting from hosting the match on their home ground and among their fans, seeking a more mature and balanced performance, and a positive result that gives the new phase an important moral boost before entering upcoming commitments.
The technical staff hopes that the match will constitute an additional step in the team-building process, away from calculations related to friendly matches, with a focus on the technical and physical image, and raising the level of harmony among the players, reaching the best possible lineup for the Asian phase.
With preparations completed today, Al-Nashama heads to the Venezuelan appointment with good morale and a complete squad, amid public anticipation to see the features of the team in its second appearance under Ezzaki's leadership, in a test carrying clear technical value, placing Al-Nashama before a new challenge that can add much to the preparation journey for the upcoming Asian station.
