A Roadmap for the Nation Until 2050

At the conclusion of its discussions on a strategic issue concerning the nation's present and future, the conference addressed: "Priorities of the Islamic Nation in the Next Twenty-Five Years 2026 – 2050."

The submitted papers featured a foresight of challenges and the formulation of a revivalist vision that restores the nation's civilizational standing.

Across six axes, the conference developed a prospective vision. In its political axis, it emphasized that the cause of Palestine and Jerusalem is the overarching strategic priority, while stressing the preservation of the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, activating the role of the Hashemite Fund for the Restoration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, and supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

It also called for consolidating the concept of a single nation while respecting state sovereignty, working toward an Islamic unitary bloc similar to the Commonwealth to achieve independence, and studying the establishment of an Islamic Court of Justice to settle disputes and prevent bloodshed.

In the religious axis, the statement called for transitioning from the "jurisprudence of survival" and crisis management to the "jurisprudence of the public sphere" and building proactive immunity, and adopting the jurisprudence of objectives (Maqasid) and priorities as a framework linking text with civilization-building.

Features of this axis included a call to reform religious education curricula by qualifying scholars who combine firm foundational knowledge in Sharia with specialization in modern sciences, and renewing religious discourse using a language of mercy, rationality, and the rejection of fanaticism and Takfir.

Educationally, the conference considered educational reform as the primary gateway to human development, through a philosophy that fosters critical thinking and innovation and supports the Arabic language and civilizational history. It recommended establishing a Supreme Islamic Council for Educational Policies with a strategy extending to 2050, creating an open, cross-border digital Islamic university, and opening cultural centers to teach the Arabic language to communities in non-Arabic-speaking countries.

In the technological axis, it recommended expanding the employment of artificial intelligence in knowledge creation, development, and education within Islamic ethical frameworks that prohibit fabrication, forgery, and privacy violations. It settled the issue of Fatwa by emphasizing that the role of AI is limited to research assistance, while issuing Fatwas remains exclusively the domain of human jurists. It also called for launching multilingual digital Dawah platforms and establishing an Islamic observatory to monitor incitement and disinformation.

Economically, it adopted a vision considering natural resources as an asset owned by all generations rather than consumable income, along with establishing sovereign wealth funds to safeguard the rights of future generations, transitioning from a rentier economy to a production and knowledge economy, and activating developmental Waqf (endowments).

Socially, it called for supporting studies in moral sociology, enhancing mental health, connecting mosques with specialists to counter family disintegration and digital isolation, and nurturing incubators to create enlightened role models.

A large gathering of scholars, jurists, thinkers, and academics from all over the world participated in the conference. Over the course of the conference days, participants discussed a wealth of valuable research and scientific papers. At the conclusion of the proceedings, participants extended their highest expressions of appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II for his generous patronage of this conference, his tireless efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, and his unwavering defense of Jerusalem and religious sanctuaries through the Hashemite Custodianship.

The rigorous scientific deliberations that took place constitute a comprehensive vision charting a path for the future in unity and revival.
