Palestinian medical sources announced that the death toll of martyrs who arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals on Saturday reached 7 people, following Israeli shelling that targeted various areas of the Strip.
The medical sources explained that 5 of the martyrs fell in the northern Gaza Strip, while one person was martyred in the center of the Strip, and another in the south, noting that a number of other injured people arrived at hospitals to receive treatment, including injuries of varying severity.
This shelling comes in light of continued Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip more than a year after the ceasefire agreement came into effect in October 2025. Human rights and media reports have documented ongoing Israeli violations of the agreement, including artillery shelling, gunfire, and house demolitions.
According to the data, the death toll since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,370 martyrs, while the number of injured has reached 175,371.
Amid the continued shelling, the United Nations warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Strip, where more than 13 percent of the population lives in displacement sites prone to flooding or in unsafe buildings, at a time when food aid programs are facing a funding shortfall that affects the distribution of hot meals and monthly aid.
