National boxing team player Zyad Aseesh, on Friday, won the silver medal in the under 70 kg category at the Asian Games 'Aichi Nagoya 2026' held in Japan.
The match between Zyad Aseesh and the Kazakhstani Turkhan Sabirkhan ended on Friday morning, with the latter winning and taking the gold.
Aseesh's silver medal came after reaching the final match, following three consecutive victories, where he defeated the Palestinian Mohamed Essa in the round of 16, the Tajikistani Shamshir Saidov in the quarterfinals, and the Japanese Seon Okazawa in the semifinals.
This is the second silver medal for Zyad Aseesh in his participation in the Asian Games, after previously winning the bronze medal in the 2018 Jakarta edition.
