The technical director of the national football team, Badou Zaaki, said that the technical staff is in constant contact with Al-Naimat, the striker of the Nشامى, and the medical staff, to seriously follow up the developments of his injury.
Zaaki expressed his hope that Al-Naimat will be ready to participate with the team in the 2027 Asian Cup finals in his usual technical and physical condition, confirming that the technical staff cannot determine an exact date for his return to the field due to the varying duration of recovery from injuries.
He explained that the player's condition and the development of his health will determine the date of his return to the field and joining the team.
Yazan Al-Naimat had suffered an injury during the national team's match against Iraq in the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup 2025, and medical examinations and X-rays showed that he had a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to the Jordan Football Association. Al-Naimat was forced to leave the match in the 14th minute after being injured.
Zaaki announced the list of the Nشامى for the friendly matches against Syria and Venezuela, which included 28 players, including the professional goalkeeper Alik Samir, and the strikers Musa Al-Ta'amri, Ali Ala'wan, and Tamer Bani Odeh.
The Nشامى will face Syria in a friendly match on September 27 at King Abdullah II Stadium, before meeting Venezuela on October 6 at the same stadium, as part of the team's preparations for the 2027 Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia, where they were drawn in Group Two alongside Uzbekistan, Bahrain, and North Korea.
