Ibrahim is eligible to play for four different national teams due to his parents' nationalities and his country of birth: Egypt, Morocco, England, and Australia, which prompted the Egyptian Football Association, through its committee for professionals of Egyptian descent, to hasten its outreach to the player.
The source revealed, "Younes Ibrahim is in Hossam Hassan's plans for the upcoming November camp, and he might actually be called up. We are waiting for the Football Association to complete the required legal procedures, and we want to repeat the experience of Haytham Hassan."
Haytham Hassan, who holds Egyptian, Tunisian, and French nationalities, joined the Egyptian senior national team last March before participating with the "Pharaohs" in the World Cup, where he displayed an impressive level of performance.
On the other hand, the source confirmed that Hossam Hassan has no reservations about including any player in the next national team camp, which will see Egypt play two matches against Malawi in Cairo and Lilongwe on November 11 and 15, as part of the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.
He said, "There is no crisis with any player at the present time. The technical director has not expressed any reservations about including any player for non-technical reasons."
The previous national team camp witnessed several crises after Hossam Hassan attacked Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy, which prompted his club to issue a statement criticizing the national team coach and demanding an investigation into him, before Hassan returned to express his respect for the Red team's captain.
Another crisis also erupted after Mohamed Salah left the pitch during the Angola match, followed by the player leaving the national team camp and not playing the South Sudan match under the pretext of not wanting to play on artificial turf.
Then Mohamed Abdelmonem, who did not participate in the Angola match, also withdrew for the same reason, and the players' absence extended to the friendly match against South Africa.
The source confirmed, "Hassan has closed the door on all crises, and the door is open for all players to participate in the upcoming camp based on their technical condition."
He mentioned that the national team's technical staff is waiting for the Football Association and the Professional Clubs Committee to determine the fate of the Egyptian Super Cup before finalizing the camp program.
The Egyptian Super Cup was scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi from November 1 to 8, with the participation of Zamalek, Pyramids, Al Masry, and Al Ahly, but the Egyptian Football Association has not confirmed the final date amid reports that Abu Dhabi has withdrawn from hosting it.
The source concluded, "We are waiting for the final decision regarding the date of the competition and whether the Clubs Committee will schedule local league matches if it is postponed, and based on that, the camp program will be announced."
The Egyptian national team currently leads Group B of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 4 points from a goalless draw with Angola and a 5-0 victory over South Sudan.
