Tottenham defeats Chelsea on their home turf and secures their second consecutive win

Tottenham Hotspur achieved their second consecutive victory in the English Premier League after defeating their hosts Chelsea in the "London Derby" with a score of 2-0 on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, as part of the eighth round of the competition.

Tottenham raised their tally to 9 points, moving up to twelfth place temporarily and distancing themselves from the relegation zone, while Chelsea remained at 13 points in fourth place temporarily after suffering another loss at home.

Tottenham imposed their presence at the start of the match but waited until the 29th minute to threaten the hosts' goal, when Egyptian Omar Marmoush fired a direct shot that was saved by Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders, following a cross from Scotsman Andy Robertson.

Penders returned to shine by saving an attempt from Frenchman Mathys Tel shortly after, while Chelsea responded with a dangerous chance in the 35th minute, when Jordan Henderson's shot forced him to intervene, keeping a clean sheet at the end of the first half.

The goalless draw continued until the 77th minute, when Tottenham took the lead from a corner kick taken by Portuguese Matheus Fernandes, before Penders came out to punch the ball away, but he mishandled it and turned it into his own net, despite Frenchman Maxence Lacroix's attempt to clear it, giving the visitors the lead.

Chelsea's task of returning to the match became complicated three minutes later following Palmer's expulsion with a second yellow card in the 80th minute, after he stepped on Conor Gallagher's foot, having received his first caution for a challenge on Fernandes, leaving the hosts to play the remaining minutes with ten men.

Tottenham exploited the numerical advantage to seal the match with a second goal in the 87th minute, after Mathys Tel sprinted through the midfield before unleashing a powerful low shot from long range that settled into the bottom left corner, confirming his team's victory and securing three valuable points in the London Derby.

With this win, Tottenham, led by Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi, continued to regain their balance after a stumbling start to the season, while pressure increased on "The Blues" and their Spanish coach Xabi Alonso, who missed the opportunity to strengthen their position among the top teams in a match decided by second-half details.
