Developmental efforts in Tafila Governorate are moving towards establishing a direct field approach to monitor the impact of economic support and remove obstacles for productive projects, as this approach has played a pivotal role in transforming institutional support, such as that led by the Jordan Economic Development Corporation (JEDC) 'Jeedco', into enhancing business growth and providing job opportunities for the province's residents.
Tafila Governor Dr. Sultan Al-Ma'adi told Al-Rai that empowering small and medium enterprises is the cornerstone of driving local development and addressing poverty and unemployment challenges, noting that the practical field approach based on active partnership with national institutions ensures the continuity and support of these projects in their initial operational stages.
Al-Ma'adi added that the governorate's house and official institutions in Tafila are putting all their capabilities to facilitate the task of supporting entities and pioneers from the province's residents to provide an attractive and stable investment environment.
JEDC Executive Director Ghalib Hijazi explained that direct communication with project owners at their work sites allows for accurately measuring the developmental impact and benefiting from feedback to develop more suitable technical and financial programs for the nature of the investment environment in Tafila.
Hijazi pointed out that the institution's programs have so far supported 41 projects in the province, which have managed to provide 140 job opportunities for the region's residents, affirming the institution's commitment to continuing to build the capacities of beneficiaries and facilitate the access of their products to national and regional markets through targeted marketing plans.
Jeedco, in coordination with the relevant official institutions in Tafila Governorate, holds regular meetings to introduce its programs and how to apply through the approved portals for supporting projects in all fields, in addition to listening to beneficiaries of its support about all the challenges they face for the purpose of monitoring and addressing them.
Interested parties emphasize the importance of opening new marketing outlets and providing advanced technical support to keep pace with technical developments and increasing production costs, and that the transition from abstract financing to field follow-up and continuous evaluation enhances the ability of projects to withstand and expand.
Development activist Khalid Al-Saudi explained that continuous field evaluation represents the real guarantee for the success of local investments, and that the shift from the abstract financing approach to field follow-up and permanent evaluation completely changes the equation, and gives operational readiness to investments and steadily pushes them towards expansion and providing real job opportunities.
