Secretary-General of the United Cities and Local Governments organization condemns the terrorist attack

The Secretary-General of the United Cities and Local Governments – Middle East and West Asia Section (UCLG-MEWA), Dr. Mehmet Duman, condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate last Friday.

Duman sent a message of condolence and solidarity to the Greater Karak Municipality, represented by the head of its committee, Dr. Mohammad Al-Manasir, following the terrorist attack. In it, Duman expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the people of Karak and the Jordanian people, affirming the organization's solidarity with the families of the victims and the injured, and wishing a speedy recovery to all the wounded.

In his message, he stressed that this sinful attack represents a flagrant assault on the human values, principles of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect that unite societies, confirming the organization's standing with the people of Karak, the member municipalities in Jordan, and the Jordanian people. He expressed his confidence that the values of unity, solidarity, and coexistence deeply rooted in Jordanian society will remain stronger than attempts to spread fear, hatred, and division.

In turn, the head of the municipality committee, Al-Manasir, valued this gesture of solidarity from the organization and its Secretary-General, and the sincere human feelings it carries towards the people of Karak and Jordan, affirming his pride in the relations of cooperation and communication with international institutions and organizations that support the values of peace and solidarity among societies.
