Petra Hotels: "Our Jordan is a Paradise" eased operational burdens on the sector

The President of the Petra Hotels Association, Sameh Al-Nawafleh, emphasized the importance of the "Our Jordan is a Paradise" program in supporting the tourism sector in the archaeological city, alleviating part of the operational and economic burdens on the hotel sector, and contributing to the preservation of local workforce and tourism expertise.

According to a statement by the Association on Monday, Al-Nawafleh said that the program served as a vital support for the hotel sector in Petra by invigorating domestic tourism and increasing visitor numbers, which helped mitigate some of the burdens weighing on hotel establishments amid the challenges facing the sector, particularly with the decline in inbound tourism.

He pointed out the necessity of continuing to support programs and initiatives that promote domestic tourism as a supporting tool for the tourism sector, while emphasizing that the true and sustainable recovery of the hotel sector in Petra requires the return of foreign tourism to its normal levels, given its fundamental role in supporting occupancy rates, revenues, and job sustainability.

The Association stressed the need for continued cooperation between the relevant authorities and the private sector to develop and update the "Our Jordan is a Paradise" program and build upon its results, thereby enhancing its economic and social impact on tourism establishments, in parallel with intensifying efforts to restore foreign tourism markets and enhance Petra's competitiveness on the global tourism map.
