((Panel Discussion)) on the Role of Women in Environmental Awareness Among Children

The National Association for Environmental Culture and Media, in collaboration with the International Youth and Development Foundation and the Youth and Childhood Cultural Association, organized a virtual panel discussion that addressed the pivotal role of women in developing environmental awareness among children.

Dr. Adnan Mahmoud Al-Toubasi emphasized that global environmental developments and increasing dangers make the role of women in environmental education an imperative, as they contribute to protecting children and the environment from pollution and instill in them values of maintaining cleanliness and water for a better future.

Dr. Mona Hindia said that Jordanian women are a key partner in facing environmental challenges such as water scarcity, waste accumulation, and climate change, noting that awareness starts from within the family, where a mother can transform environmental concepts into established daily behaviors through practical examples.

Dr. Naim Al-Dhahir explained that women spread environmental awareness through their daily behavior at home, teaching their children the importance of cleanliness and conserving water, electricity, and energy, and encouraging them to reuse, recycle, and participate in afforestation campaigns and community initiatives.

Rania Adnan Abu Shawar stressed that the home is the first line of defense for preserving the environment, and that environmental awareness is not just a slogan but a lifestyle that starts with small details such as reducing waste, recycling, and teaching children to love nature and be kind to living beings.

Dr. Nadia Al-Omar emphasized that women are capable of being the primary model for environmental education both at home and outside, as they instill in children from a young age the values of cleanliness and social responsibility to make them influential in protecting the environment, water, and agriculture from pollution.
