Cole Palmer has extended his contract with Chelsea until 2034, after the English forward was originally tied to the West London team until 2033, with the new improved contract securing his stay at Stamford Bridge for an additional year.
The 24-year-old said, "Chelsea means a lot to me and I believe the club is moving in the right direction, so I am pleased to sign, and I am very happy of course."
He added, "Talking with the owners, sporting directors, and the manager of course filled me with great confidence, so signing was the right thing to do."
He continued, "And in talking with the players too, everyone shares the same ambitions. I feel that we are constantly winning major trophies here, and I want to be a part of that and play a big role in it as well."
Palmer joined Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, contributing to 91 goals as a scorer and provider in 138 matches during his time in West London.
Last season, he suffered from a persistent groin issue, and Germany's England manager Thomas Tuchel left him out of the "Three Lions" squad for the 2026 World Cup in a controversial decision.
Tuchel also said that Palmer had "missed too many chances" to play for the national team, after he withdrew from the squad for the final Nations League matches.
The "Blues" Spanish manager Xabi Alonso defended Palmer on Friday, affirming that his star is committed to representing England and that he only needs full fitness to show his best levels with his club and country.
Nevertheless, Palmer has started the season strongly, scoring four goals in seven matches across all competitions.
Palmer's close relationship with English midfielder Morgan Rogers prompted him to join Chelsea from Aston Villa during the summer transfer window.
Palmer's contract is the latest to be awarded to a Chelsea star to keep him with the London club into the fourth decade of this century, following the contracts recently signed by Brazilian Joao Pedro and Portuguese Pedro Neto.
