Night Raids to Control Illegal Timber Traders in Irbid

The Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature in the Public Security Directorate, carried out a night security campaign and raid targeting illegal timber cutters and traders in the Bani Kenana District, as part of efforts to protect the forest area and reduce encroachments on forest wealth.

An informed source at the Directorate of Agriculture confirmed that information and observations related to illegal activities were monitored and tracked by the relevant inspection cadres, leading to the raid being carried out in the late hours of last night at sites and places used for storing illegal timber. The operation resulted in the seizure of illegal quantities and the referral of those involved to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them.

The source explained that this campaign is a continuation of intensified monitoring efforts, pointing to the implementation of a similar security campaign last week in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate in the Northern Mazar District, targeting encroachments on forest trees, and stressing the continuation of inspection tours and security campaigns to deal firmly with any excesses that affect the environment and plant wealth in the province.
