More than 100 complaints put 'wrong-way driving' under scrutiny in Al-Disa

The phenomenon of wrong-way driving in the Al-Disa area is no longer just a passing traffic violation, as it has become one of the most frequently raised observations by citizens and visitors, prompting the Al-Disa Basin Municipality to take action in response to what was received through its electronic window for complaints and suggestions.

The municipality received over 100 complaints and observations, which showed that about 90% of them focused on the phenomenon of wrong-way driving, and the confusion it causes in traffic and the risks to road users, especially visitors who visit Al-Disa and its surroundings.

In direct response to these observations, the chairman of the Al-Disa Basin Municipality Committee, Harb Al-Owaitdat, announced the launch of an awareness campaign to reduce the phenomenon, under the slogan:

'Don't let the first thing a visitor to Al-Disa remembers be a car driving in the wrong direction.'

The campaign carries a clear message to drivers about the need to adhere to traffic directions and designated lanes, considering that respecting road rules is not only about avoiding violations but also about protecting lives and ensuring the safety of all road users.

Al-Owaitdat confirmed that the campaign comes in response to the observations of citizens and visitors that reached the municipality through the electronic window, pointing out that listening to these observations and following them is a fundamental part of the municipality's responsibility towards the local community and visitors.

He pointed out that the road represents the first facade of any area, and the behavior of drivers on it directly affects the visitor's impression, especially in the Al-Disa area, which enjoys a tourist and natural status and receives numbers of visitors throughout the year.

The campaign seeks to establish the concept that adherence to the correct path is a collective responsibility, and that addressing the phenomenon begins with awareness and commitment, leading to safer and smoother roads, and a civilized image befitting Al-Disa, its people, and its visitors.

The complaints received by the municipality reveal the importance of maintaining communication channels with citizens, not only to receive observations but also to turn them into issues that receive follow-up, treatment, and awareness, thereby enhancing the partnership between the municipality and the local community.

Al-Owaitdat: A safe road starts with the driver's commitment, and the image of Al-Disa starts with the behavior of its people and visitors.

The campaign summarizes its message in a simple and clear call:

Together for a safer road… and an image befitting Al-Disa and its people.
