Jordan condemns the attack on a Qatari gas tanker in the Arabian Gulf

Jordan condemned today the attack on the liquefied natural gas tanker "Al Mayeda," owned by Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat), while it was sailing in the waters of the Arabian Gulf, considering it a violation of international law and a threat to the freedom of maritime navigation.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the necessity of respecting international law and ensuring the freedom of maritime navigation and the safety of vessels and their crews, warning of the dangerous repercussions on the security and stability of the region and on the international economy and the environment as a result of targeting energy tankers.

The Ministry also affirmed Jordan's absolute solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar, and its full support for it in all steps it takes to protect its security, interests, and assets.
