Increase in fuel prices in the UAE by 16 percent for gasoline and 11 percent for diesel

Gasoline and diesel prices in the United Arab Emirates have risen, as of today, Thursday, October 1st, according to the new tariff announced by the Fuel Price Monitoring Committee, in an increase that included all fuel categories compared to the prices in effect during last September, according to Emirati media.

Fuel prices for the current month of October have increased by about 15.8 percent for "Super 98", 16 percent for "Private 95", 16.6 percent for "E Plus 91", and 11.6 percent for diesel, compared to last September.

According to the new prices, the price of a liter of "Super 98" gasoline increased from 3.80 dirhams to 4.40 dirhams, an increase of 60 fils per liter, while the price of "Private 95" increased from 3.69 to 4.28 dirhams, and "E Plus 91" from 3.61 to 4.21 dirhams per liter, as the price of diesel increased from 4.30 to 4.80 dirhams per liter, an increase of 50 fils per liter.

The new increase is directly reflected in the cost of refueling vehicles, as the cost of filling a 60-liter tank increases by about 36 dirhams when using gasoline, which has increased by 60 fils per liter, compared to last month, while the additional cost varies according to the type of fuel, the capacity of the vehicle's tank, and the rate of use. The UAE reviews fuel prices monthly in light of prevailing trends in global energy markets.
