The International Energy Agency (IEA) said on Thursday that the total amount of oil to be released will exceed the original figure of 400 million barrels agreed upon in March, as agency members pledged to accelerate the release of the remaining quantities.

The agency added that it has agreed to take all necessary measures to complete the remaining releases, which amount to about 100 million barrels, including more than 20 million barrels of diesel, in a timely manner and in accordance with the national circumstances of each country.
