The draw for the 2026 Haretna League (Central Region) for the buds and cubs categories was held yesterday, revealing the tournament groups that will kick off next Friday and continue until the 10th of next month.
The competitions will be held with the participation of 24 teams at the Al-Maaref Schools fields in Khalda, organized by SportDS (Sports Development Solutions).
Former international star Muhannad Mahadin, one of the founders of the Haretna League initiative and General Manager of SportDS, reviewed the tournament's goals, which are part of an educational sports platform project launched two years ago that is steadily expanding to all regions of the Kingdom.
Mahadin pointed out that the "Haretna" initiative continues to expand to all governorates through the participation of teams from various regions of the Kingdom throughout past tournaments in the central and southern regions, adding that each edition sees improvements in instructions and implementation to mirror the goals and values upon which the "non-profit" initiative was founded.
Mahadin emphasized that the tournament targets emerging age groups, introducing them to the experience of official international matches by applying international match systems and the presence of international referees. Meanwhile, "Wissam," the Haretna League mascot, will be present to engage players with values, goals, and the spirit of competition, which also applies to coaches and administrators, with the aim of benefiting from the unique experience the tournament provides.
Following this, international referee Ahmed Abu Khadija, head of the Referees Committee, reviewed the tournament instructions and explained the amendments made for the new season, ensuring the instructions are more educational than administrative to achieve greater benefit for the participants.
The draw for the buds and cubs tournaments was conducted by Aoun Al-Jarrah, the tournament director. 12 teams participate in each category, distributed into two groups. The draw results are as follows:
Buds Category
Group One:
(Marmar Sports A, JUFA 1, Tactic City, ROYAL CITY A, Al-Faisaly Club Academy, GALDIATORS).
(Tactic City, Al-Faisaly Club Academy, Dortmund, ROYAL CITY B, GALDIATORS, Marmar Sports).
- Group Two:
(Ashrafieh Eagles, GALDIATORS, Al-Bashair, ALPHA LEAP, ROYAL CITY A, Amman Eagles).
According to the tournament system, teams play group stage matches in a single-round league format, with the first and second place teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.
The upcoming tournament will witness, for the first time, the entry of digital platforms for players through the presence of the SCOUTMENA talent discovery platform. Majdi Al-Mashini, CEO of the platform, provided a detailed explanation of its system, which enhances opportunities for discovering players and helps them reach professionalism in the football field, serving as a digital platform that documents football talents for scouts and those searching for stars.
The Haretna League initiative in the Central Region will be held in partnership with entities that believed in the project's idea: Bromine Jordan as the Platinum Sponsor, Zain Jordan as the telecommunications sponsor, the Jawharat Dabouq Center for Physical Therapy as the medical sponsor, Siniora as the food partner, and the leading digital talent discovery platform SCOUTMENA.
It is noteworthy that SportDS is a leading company established in late 2023, aiming to contribute to elevating the status of Jordanian sports, encouraging the community to adopt a healthier lifestyle, and enhancing the prosperity of the sports sector by providing business and digital solutions within the sports ecosystem in Jordan.
