Geologists Association condemns the shooting incident at Hamoud Church in Karak

The Jordanian Geologists Association condemned the shooting incident that targeted a church in the village of Hamoud in Karak Governorate, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of people, affirming that the attack on places of worship and safe citizens is an unacceptable crime that contradicts religious, human, and moral values.

In a statement issued by the association, it emphasized that the sanctity of human blood and the human right to worship, safety, and living with dignity are established principles that are not subject to compromise, stressing that the attack on churches, mosques, and all places of worship affects the values of society and the right of citizens to practice their religious rites in security and tranquility.

It stressed that Jordanians, Muslims and Christians, are children of one homeland united by land, history, and a common destiny, and that such incidents will not undermine national unity or the cohesion of the Jordanian social fabric, affirming its rejection of all forms of violence, intimidation, and incitement of division among the people of the homeland.

The association affirmed that maintaining Jordan's security and stability is a shared responsibility, and that confronting violence and extremism requires consolidating a culture of tolerance, respect for others, and promoting the values of citizenship, justice, and the rule of law.
