Dr. Agadir Jouihan Elected to the Board of Directors of the Arab Businesswomen Council

The Director General of the Princess Taghrid Foundation, Dr. Agadir Jouihan, was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the Arab Businesswomen Council for the eighth term 2026-2030, during the General Assembly meeting of the Council, which was held at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, with the participation of Arab leaders and figures.

The meeting was chaired by Her Highness Sheikha Dr. Hissa Al-Sabah, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Businesswomen Council, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Fahmy, the former Secretary-General of the League Amr Moussa, along with a number of official figures and women leaders.

According to a statement by the Foundation, today Wednesday, Jouihan's election comes within the framework of enhancing Jordanian participation in the Arab economic work system, and consolidating the presence of Jordanian women's competencies in decision-making positions, which contributes to expanding the fields of cooperation, exchange of expertise, and building partnerships between businesswomen in Arab countries, and supports opportunities for economic integration and sustainable development.

It is worth noting that the Arab Businesswomen Council is an Arab platform for developing the role of women in the economy, through supporting economic empowerment, enhancing women's participation in commercial and investment activities, developing their competitive capabilities, and expanding their access to markets, in addition to supporting their presence in the economic decision-making process at the national and regional levels.

The Council also plays a pivotal role in building bridges of communication and networking between businesswomen and investment experts in Arab countries, exchanging successful experiences, and developing economic partnerships, including facilitating access to markets, enhancing financial inclusion, and providing a supportive environment for the growth of projects.

It is expected that Jordanian representation on the Board of Directors will provide an opportunity to enhance cooperation between institutions and entities concerned with economic empowerment in Jordan and their counterparts in Arab countries, and to expand the horizons of joint initiatives that support women's entrepreneurship.
