Diranieh: Strong Demand for Dinar

The demand for the Jordanian Dinar remains strong in the local market, as confirmed by Alaa Diranieh, the Secretary of the Jordanian Exchange Dealers Association.

Diranieh confirmed that the Jordanian Dinar continues to see strong demand during the current period, matched by supply of foreign and Arab currencies in the local market.

Diranieh explained that the demand for foreign and Arab currencies is experiencing a noticeable calm during the current period, due to the regional conditions affecting the region.

Gold prices declined on Tuesday, pressured by the rise in the dollar and U.S. Treasury yields, but losses remained limited due to reduced expectations of the Federal Reserve (U.S. Central Bank) raising interest rates this month.

According to Bloomberg Economics, gold in spot transactions fell by 0.3 percent to $4128.69 per ounce, while U.S. futures for gold moved slightly to $4156.

As for other precious metals, silver in spot transactions declined by 0.6 percent to $60.67, platinum by 0.7 percent to $1710.08, and palladium by 0.2 percent to $1170.15.

The euro moved near its lowest level in 17 months, affected by political uncertainty and financial concerns across the Eurozone, while the dollar continued its strong gains, supported by rising U.S. Treasury yields.

The euro declined slightly to $1.122 at the start of Asian trading, after falling in the previous session to its lowest level since May 2025, continuing losses of 1.2 percent last week. Against the British pound, the euro recorded 84.83 pence in the latest transactions, after falling by more than one percent over the past week.
