Al-Nashmaa's preparatory journey for the Asian Cup kicks off

The preparatory journey for the national football team officially began yesterday, Tuesday, in preparation for participating in the Asian Cup finals–Saudi Arabia 2027, and «Al-Nashmaa» started a new phase of preparation under the leadership of its new Moroccan coach Badou El-Zaki.

The current gathering is part of the preparatory program set by the technical staff, which includes playing two friendly matches, the first against the Syrian team at eight in the evening on Sunday 27 September of this year, at King Abdullah II Stadium, and the second against the Venezuelan team, at the same time in the evening on Tuesday 6 October next, on the same field.

The national team conducted its first training, yesterday morning, at the Nashmaa Preparation Center, led by El-Zaki, with the participation of 24 players out of 28 players on the list, with the team's ranks completing today, Wednesday.

The technical staff is focusing during this phase on getting to know the players' abilities better, raising technical and physical readiness, and testing several options during the two friendly matches, which will help in reaching the most prepared lineup before the continental commitment.

The Nashmaa list includes 28 players: Yazeed Abu Leila, Abdullah Al-Fakhuri, Alik Samir, Ahmed Jaaidi, Yazan Al-Arab, Abdullah Naseeb, Muhammad Abu Al-Nadi, Saad Al-Roussan, Hadi Al-Hourani, Mohannad Abu Taha, Ihsan Haddad, Ahmed Assaf, Anas Badawi, Nour Al-Ruwaida, Nizar Al-Rashad, Ibrahim Saada, Youssef Qashi, Amer Gamous, Mahmoud Shawkat, Youssef Abu Jalbush, Moussa Al-Ta'amri, Mahmoud Marzi, Tamer Bani Auda, Ahmed Arsan, Ali Azaizah, Auda Al-Fakhuri, Muhammad Abu Zariq, and Ali Alwan.

The current gathering is of particular importance, as it represents the first appearance of El-Zaki in leading the team during the upcoming preparatory phase, in which the technical staff seeks to establish the initial vision of the team's needs and identify the elements capable of implementing its technical requirements, before entering more advanced stages of preparation.

The national team's preparation plan for participating in the Asian Cup 2027 includes holding a number of friendly matches during the upcoming international breaks in the capital, Amman, which allows the technical staff to continue testing players and tactical options, while also giving the Jordanian fans the opportunity to follow the Nashmaa's preparations and support them during their preparatory journey.

The draw for the Asian Cup finals 2027 placed the national team, the runner-up of the previous edition, in Group Two alongside the teams of Uzbekistan, Bahrain, and North Korea.

The Asian Cup finals 2027 will take place from 7 January to 5 February, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where the national team will start its journey in the tournament by facing Uzbekistan on Friday evening 8 January, at the King Abdullah City Stadium in Jeddah.

The Nashmaa will face Bahrain on Wednesday evening 13 January, at the same stadium, before concluding their group stage journey with a match against North Korea on Sunday evening 17 January, at Imam Muhammad bin Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.

The national team hopes that the upcoming phase will be an important station in building the required readiness before the Asian finals, in light of the great aspirations carried by the Nashmaa after reaching the final match in the previous edition, and the accompanying aspirations to continue the strong presence at the continental level.
